OP upgrades

I know that OP considers HNL as an international destination. So the whole 30 day window applies, but if you buy the ticket in the 30 day window, for say travel within the next 2 weeks. Does the upgrade go through automatically when you purchase the ticket???

If you have 17500 mi in your OP account you can have it deducted on the spot for a O/W upgrade to the very nice B/F seating and eating, but only if a seat is available in the U/G bucket. Ditto for the return.

Please note, with only 24 B/F seats now available on all the CO Hawaii DC-10-30's, B/F upgrades are harder and harder to obtain.

I was under the impression that HNL is not included in the 30 day window rule, like Asia. Have never had trouble securing upgrades as far as 6 months out IF they were available! (IF is a much bigger issue than WHEN..) Has this changed recently?
