Sequence Number

Just checked in for my 2:05 P.M. departure to SEA from EWR tomorrow. Trying to go for a BF Plat upgrade (who am I fooling -- FC has shown full for the past week.

When checking in exactly at 2:05 I noticed on my BP I'm Sequence #11.

Never seen this happen before. Anyone else?

Oh well, I'll enjoy my meal at meal time -- slice of turkey and maybe they'll provide three chunks of pineapple instead of two.

A little bitter!

This can probably be explained by connecting passengers being able to OLCI for both segments 24 hours prior to their first flight.

I have actually had the dubious distinction of being sequnce number 1 on both my LAX-EWR and EWR-MCO flights back in November of last year!

Going for it. Taken this flight numerous times this past fall and summer.

9 out of 10 times, received a nice Continental $$$$ Certificate.

Which is exactly why the whole "first to check in" priority for the standby list was ridiculous in first place. I'm glad CO is fixing it come March 16. After all, there have to be fairer criteria then who's fastest with his mouse (like fare paid).

I just received completely unexpected battlefield upgrades on both legs of a EWR-LAX-EWR trip this week (unexpected as there was only 1 seat left up front on both flights and would have thought there would have been a few Plats ahead of me). I am Gold and was a traveling on a B fare. On the outbound I was #2 to check-in and was #1 on the return. The return LAX-EWR upgrade was especially nice as eqp was the 762.

I'm not sure if this is new corporate policy, but neither the PC agent or the gate agent in EWR would tell me where I ranked on the standby list.

I dont know if this is any of the following:

1) Not wanting to deal with negative comments with an honest reply
2) Corporate policy
3) The fact that there is multiple lists
4) A combination of any of the three

I'm always #2.
MissBumpMe! is always #1.
Of course, now that means a lot less with EUA changes.
The glory days are gone.

In my mind, being number 1 gives CO less reason not to give me the battlefield upgrade.

In CO's mind that logic only applies if your fare basis begins with the letter Y!

Received the 1st of 5 BF Upgrades yesterday afternoon from EWR -> SEA.

Seat 1E (737-800).

Flight has been sold out for two weeks -- went for the bump, they weren't taking volunteers -- we still went out with a few empty in Y.
