Repeat Gold Elite Status
I had OP Gold Elite Status last year but only acculmulate 40,000 miles and fail to reach that this year. Do you think they will give me Gold Status if I ask nicely? Just curious if anyone tried in past.

I would rather doubt that CO will comp you again. Too many ohters have flown the required 50K. Although it never hurts to ask, you probably will not get the answer you want... Good luck, and at least you have silver...

It might depend on where you fly out of, if you're at one of Continental's fortress hubs like EWR or IAH the chances are slim.
On the other hand if you're in a market with real competition, your chances are better.
