Upgrading on EWR-SJO
Has anyone had any luck upgrading on this flight? It's about a 5.5 hour flight and I'm wondering if it is worth burning 15K miles or waiting to see if EUA can get me up there. I'm a Silver, connecting from ORD, and it's on a 737-800 leaving Sunday April 1 (no joke!). If I don't use miles, I pretty sure I can get a bulkhead seat. On the return my flight is through IAH on 757, so hopefully upgrading via EUA won't be a problem. Any thoughts?

A quick look at ITN for the next few Sunday's flights yielded the folowing:
3/4: C1 D0 Z0
3/11: C8 D7 Z6
3/18: C7 D6 Z3
3/25: C9 D8 Z5
4/1: C7 D7 Z6
If this Sunday's flight is typical, it looks like you would be out of luck. My guess is upgrade opportunities existed on this flight, but gold and platinum elites (or silver with "Y" fares) took all available upgrades.
Perhaps others will have different interpretations of this.
