Elite status has nothing to do with entry to the President's Club. You would need EITHER to be a member of it, be traveling in BusinessFirst (and be able to show your boarding pass), or pay an entrance fee for a single visit.

You could also buy a Privilege Pack, if you have some time before you travel and you've been a OnePass member for less than a year. It includes two President's Club day passes.

Also, if you hold the American Express Platinum card, it will get you in immediately before or after flying Continental.

...or you could get into the PC with an Amex Platinum or Centurian card, providing you have a ticket for a CO flight on that day!

This only works with the "real" Platinum card (the one you pay $300 a year for). You can't get in with an Amex Platinum Rewards card, an Amex Platinum Optima card, or any other "free" Amex Platinum card. Although I've heard of some people getting away with using them, there are no guarantees, and you might very likely be refused admission by an alert PC agent.

Also, the same privileges apply at NW and TW clubs when you are ticketed on those airlines.

If you have a Platinum Amex card, can you AND a guest go into the President's club? Or does the guest need a Plat Amex card also?

And what if your guest is your spouse?

You can bring a guest. You then asked,"And what if your guest is your spouse?" I guess it means, you can't try to pick up anyone at the bar???

Thanks for all your responses; my best bet appears to be use of my Amex Platinum card (never heard that one before -- appreciate the tip!)

Cigarman:

Oops, let me clarify the question:

I meant to ask, will Amex Platinum allow you to bringa guest regardless if it's your spouse or not? I know sometimes club membershifts (not PC) will allow you to bring a guest who is a spouse (or family member), but not someone who is not related like a co-worker.
