Comps to Continental or NWA
After being in NYC for 3 years I'm getting tired of flying AA out of LGA and the delays. I'm AA Platinum and wonder what your opinion is on ease of comping to status on Continental or Northwest as those are the 2 other airlines that make the most sense. What are the benefits?
I did a quick search on the boards and didn't find much, is there anything I missed?
Thanks,
Jeff

Call one-pass service center and they'll hand deliver a comp card to you wrapped in a bow.
Not that this is good.

jadrake, I would suggest requesting a Comp with Continental rather than Northwest. CO will match your current level up to and including their Platinum level.
Continental does offer a One Pass Match Program. Through this program they will match your current elite level of another airline with a comparable One Pass elite level, including Platinum, valid through the current program year, ending February 28, 2001. At this time of year they may extend it through the end of the next program year, ending February 28, 2002. I would give One Pass a call to determine your timing.
They require:
[*]A copy of your current Elite (the other airline) Membership Card.
[*]A copy of your latest (the other airline) statement, stating actual miles flown and showing your elite level.
[*]A note indicating you wish to participate in their One Pass Match Program.
If a Continental One Pass member:
[*]A copy of your current One Pass Membership Card.
[*]A copy of your current One Pass statement.
Mail To:
Continental Airlines
One Pass Service Center
Attn: One Pass Match Program
P O Box 4365
Houston, TX 77210-4365
Or, better yet, if you are in a hurry, overnight it to:
Continental Airlines
One Pass Service Center
9999 Richmond Avenue, Suite 112
Houston, TX 77042
(713) 952-1630
For the latest information or any unanswered questions, you may wish to call 800.621.7467
The intent of this program, is of course, that you will bring your business to Continental. Overall, Continental is an excellent airline! Good luck and happy flying!!!

Yep, there sure is a difference! But the "positive energy" all seems to be coming from Platinums, and the "negativity" seems to be coming mostly from Golds/Silvers.
I wonder why that it? Suppose it could be because the Plats are still getting near 100% upgrades, while a Gold/Silver card is now near worthless? Amazing how a 31" pitch seat can skew one's attitude!
Seems that the "I'm still getting mine, so shuttup and go back to your 31" pitch seat" attitude is alive and well here!
