Possible fare war with AA
Just a heads-up - we could have a fare war between AA and CO based on some of my searches to the west coast today as well as recent postings in the mileage run forum. Hopefully tomorrow will bring as much fun as some fridays last fall when UA and CO went at it (espescially to HNL).

US Air is also undercutting Continental fares (significantly) on some routes out of Houston--I keep waiting for Continental to respond in kind but they have, for the most part, declined so far. Fingers crossed...

Keep an eye out tomorrow. They let UA go for awhile last time and then hit them hard on a couple of fridays....

If US Air and AA ain't enough, Southwest is now publishing fares out of EWR, thanks to the codeshare with ATA.

As funny as that is to me, you might want to edit that....
Is he still heading for US Scare as the rumours indicated last fall?

Really, can't you find another word? You must be one of those that likes to call agents and use that terminology to make your point. Besides maybe Gordon goes both ways!

For all we know, snake may be the most polite customer on the phone. He's just a bit crass at times here on the board. It's probably just a side-effect from years of enhancementsssss.

Continental's pricing was not competitive with other airlines during 2004, so why expect them to start now?

-Meals at meal times (try getting a hot sandwich meal on SWA transcon, where sometimes they cost more than CO)
-Pillows and Blankets (AA removed them from the MD80 fleet)
-Unlimited FC upgrades for Elites (we can argue this, but there are other airlines that dont even offer such an option)
-Lax carry on Policy... (those UA carryon sizers at DCA and DEN are hostile)
-Vincent

Were it not for the all too frequent schedule changes and transfering NonePass miles to Amtrak, I would seldom have a need to communicate with live humans at CO on the phone.
I have high regards for the frontline employees of Continental (except, maybe, for the occasional gate agent at EWR
) I certainly don't hold them responsable for the mis-deeds of management, and sincerely hope that they don't get :-: enhanced :-: too much through CO's "liquidity crisis".
