CO Reports September Load Factor
Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL - news and CAL.A - news) today reported a systemwide load factor of 72.4 percent in September, compared to 72.8 percent in September 1999.
In September 2000, Continental flew 5.2 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 7.2 billion available seat miles (ASMs), resulting in a traffic increase of 4.7 percent on a capacity increase of 5.2 percent versus September 1999. International traffic was 2.1 billion RPMs, up 7.5 percent from September 1999 and international capacity was 2.8 billion ASMs, up 8.4 percent from last year.
Continental Express, Continental's wholly owned regional subsidiary, reported a 58.9 percent load factor in September, compared to 61.8 percent last September. Continental Express flew 249.0 million RPMs and 423.1 million ASMs in September, resulting in a traffic increase of 31.2 percent and a capacity increase of 37.8 percent versus last year.
