Do miles expire?
I have some miles in my CO account from 1995, do they expire? (I haven't traveled on CO since 1995)

I recently booked a BC RT ticket LAX-SYD on Qantas, using miles earned in my CO OP acct. which were earned between 1989-94.

Continental has stated that OnePass accounts are subject to cancellation if there is no account activity for a period of 18 months.
Perhaps mileage in accounts before the 18 month policy was established is exempt.

They definetly lose value with inflation of rewards costs!

I didn't show any activity at all between 1994 and February 2000, but my miles remained intact. And, I would have to say that now that I've resumed flying, CO is once again my airline of choice, for this and other reasons. That's a smart move on their part because I'm now 356 mi. short of SE now, and might make Gold by the end of the year, especially if they have another round of cheap European flights.

Some rewards have been lowered in recent years, 9 months out of the year, a roundtrip in the continental US is now only 20,000 miles

Boomer, if a gallon of milk cost $2 then the price goes to $2.50. Later the price is dropped for nine months to $2. Are the prices going down...or just back to where they started? To go down would it have to go below $2? Just a little philosiphical question for you...

Yes , its still a drop.
In 1932 a gallon of milk was probably a nickle, if we use you're reasoning any price drop that still left it over a nickle wouldnt really be a drop.
Believe me, if milk went down to 25 cents a gallon, just about everyone would call that a drop in price.
