Was just curious if anyone knew if the Upgrade certs included in the privilege packs were indeed non transferable? Has anyone had any luck using these?

Thanks

There are definately not transferable. However, I have had mixed experiences using them for travelling companions. HP accepted my wife and my coupons for the whole family. CO has accepted them for my spouse and vise-vera.

No problems using them. 75% upgrade rate on YYZ-IAH-LAS and CLE-LAS (starting in YYZ, YYZ-CLE is 30 seater.).

I agree with CanadianFlyer; you would probably stand a much better chance if you used them in tandem with the bearer, than you would if you were to try to use them by yourself. It also probably depends a lot on the disposition of the gate agent.

My wife once was told that they'll let someone else use it if they have the same last name as the person on the ticket, or maybe even maiden names accepted. I also think that person would have to go to the airport with, though.

She got this from HP agent, though. It probably depends on the agent. A nice CO agent actually accepted some from us recently that had expired.

The are 100% not transferable.
Of course, you could always get lucky and get a gate agent that didnt know the rules or didnt care to enforce them. However, offically they are NON-transferable.
