Seat assignment question.

When you choose seats on continental.com certain seats are unvailable(To me) because they are being held for elite members. These seats are displayed in blue. My question is what happens to these seats if they go unbooked? Right now I am stock in a center seat way back in the plane....ughhhh....I am a big guy and really don't want to be sitting there. Should I ask at the airport if any aisle seats have opened up?

If you check in online 24hr before the flight you can access any seat including exit rows (that may be your best bet if you are a big guy). You can also call CO - sometimes the phone rep will move you, sometimes they wont. Oh - if you do get the exit row on a 737 or 757 be sure to grab the second one over the first one (e.g. if row 13 & 14 are exit rows go for row 14) as you will get the extra leg room and a seat that reclines.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you know if I can change seat assignments for all of the segments 24 hours before the first departure or if it is 24 hours before each one? E:G my flight leaves at 5:40 am connecting to a 9:25 IAH flight. Will I be able to change both these assignments 24 hours before the 5:40 departure?

I would try the online check-in change at the 24 hour mark. If you don't get what you want call later and ask at the airport check-in.

Keep asking including the gate since seats will open up as elite members are upgraded.
