Double Miles for E-ticket??
During december I flew SFO-CLE-PVD and PVD-EWR-SFO. I booked the ticket through continental using an E-ticket, and it wasn't full fare. When I checked my most recent online statment, I was pleasantly suprised that in addition to my 50% bonus for being bronze, I got on all segments except PVD-EWR, another 50% bonus for something they call E-ticket Bonus Miles. I don't recall there being promotion at that time? not that I'm complaining, but does anyone have an explanation?

The E-ticket bonus has been going on for a long time. They save a lot of money by having you booked on-line. And that's the reward/encouragement. Many airlines have similar deals.

I used flew EWR-SAN and got the 50% e-ticket bonus and just booked a EWR-STL flight and got one. I've asked CO's elite folks several times about this and always get the same basic answer.
"We offer it on some fare's and some flights"
I'm trying to find of where and when, but either CO's agents don't know or won't tell"
I must admit it made the EWR-SAN flight a onepass bonanza.
Fare was $307 roundtrip and the onepass miles added as follows:
Actual 5436
Gold elite bonus 6795
e-ticket bonus 2718
credit card miles 307
and for the really GRAND total
15256
Now you see why I'm trying to find out where and when this is offered

it doesn't have to be booked through the web site, but it must be issued by Continental (ie, ticket-by-mail will work). all fare classes.
When it first came out you had to be in a special focus group or something, but I guess it works for everyone (or maybe all elites) now?
I calculated that if you valued miles at about 1.6 cents most cross-country flight would actually earn me money.

I just found out yesterday that if you book an e-ticket through a travel agent or on-line with someone other than CO, the bonuses do not apply. You must book the e-ticket through Continental agents or the CO on-line system.
