Talking OnePass Miles -- Dramatic Increase in Value

WOW. I'm so excited.

CO will now allow us to give OnePass miles as a holiday gifts.
(Most recent News and Offers e-mail.)

The deal is $35 per 1000 miles. (Max 12k miles.)

Therefore, CO now values our OnePass miles at $0.035 each.

This is yet another increase in the value of our OnePass miles!
The previously-offered transfer option was $7.50 per 500 miles.
This valued our miles at $0.015 each.

This is an increase in value (ROI) of 133%.
I wish my IRA's performance was 1/3rd of this.

Safe travels and happy shopping to all!!!!!!

Actually, the transfer offer was a fee to transfer already-earned miles. This offer is to purchase "new" miles, as long as not for yourself. Wish I could cash in at even $.03/mile

Thumbs down

Don't confuse cost with value, if it takes 50,000 miles to get an SleazyPass reward that you can buy for a couple of hundred bucks your miles have a cash value of $.004

!!!
First of all, no one wants a gift of 500 miles. Second of all, You could cash in 60,000 miles and send them business first to Paris in mid-summer when the fare is $5,000 and tell them you gave them a $5000 gift. Would that make you feel better??

Whether the price is $25 or $35 per 1K miles why would anyone buy them when it's so easy to accumulate miles thru flying, shopping, dining, etc.

Exclamation What worth?

How do you quantify the difficulty in redeeming the miles? To me CO miles are worth $.002

OnePass Miles -- Dramatic Increase in Value

Does it now require fewer NonePass miles for magazine subscriptions? Or, is the subscription term longer?

Gee, you'd think that with CO valuing OP miles at 3.5 cents each they'd have been eager to take me up on my offer to sell miles back to them for half of that. I've got 600,000 that I'd sell them at that price.

Would it help if, in the holiday spirit, instead of the full asking price of $10,500, I'd sell it for $9,999.99 and offer free gift wrap?

PS to Billiken: On my refrigerator, we have a magnet that says "Tact is for those not witty enough to use sarcasm". We love it so much that when we moved, we put it with the silverware so we'd know where to find it. If I see it again, I'll buy you one and PM you.
