Nope. The only chance for an international UG is if there is an open BF seat and they can sell your perch in coach. I got lucky 3 times IAH - LGW under those conditions.

The correct answer is sometimes. If the cabin is Intl First Class (Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Central America, northern South America, some intra-Asia), then complementary, space available upgrades do apply. If it is Business First (Europe, Asia, southern South America, Hawaii), then no free upgrades. A number of destinations in Mexico and Canada are served with RJs, so no upgrades on those.
