And irrespective of the equipment, the meal service is quasi-Business First.
Usually seafood appetizer (lobster, crab/shrimp, or salmon) and salad (served at same time as appetizer), choice of 4 entrees (meat, poultry, fish/seafood, pasta) and ice cream sundae for dessert.
Food quality and portion sizes are somewhat below the level of true BusinessFirst, even though the menu options are very very similar.

So if you do get a BF-equipped a/c (767 or 752), you're coming fairly close to the true Int'l BF experience.

That is nice to read. I am flying EWR-LAX on Jan 2 as the last leg of a mileage run using the LAX-MCI Z fare. The plane is a 737-800 and I'd take a well-valued bump on that Sunday, but knowing there will be a nice meal is great.

I'm going to be traveling this route on Continental for my first time. I will be sitting in FC on a 737-800. What kind of seat should I expect? How does it compare to a 757 first class on United?

The seat is about equal to United's domestic FC seat. But since it's a 738 not a 757, there are less FC seats, and you may get better attention.
