Earlier Check in - does it affect EUA??
Clueless newbie question here. Does EUA behave any differently if you've checked in or not? Just wondering if anyone has ever thought about that.

No. There are several discussions on this if you do a search.

from previous posts, and from co.com i have concluded that checking in early does not affect EUA.
whether checked in or not, the last EUA (ran at the three hour mark) upgrades elites by level, fare class and time of purchase.
once the 3 hour mark has passed, gate agents will assign any unclaimed seats (most likely no shows for one reason or another) by elite level and check-in time. fare classses and time of purchase do not come into play after the last EUA.
so, online check-in helps in the "gate assigned" upgrade process and should never affect the EUA system, although i have heard that this is not a foolproof system.
