So, I attempt to book transcon reward flight after signing in to CO.COM as a Platinum with 200K miles in my account. Nothing but Sleazy Pass "rewards". Then I log OUT. As a "nobody" the Standard rewards pop up.
Has anyone else had this experience? I am trying not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but how would this functionality benefit CO? In other words, is this most likely just a CO.COM glitch?

Unless proven otherwise I view Co.com glitches the way I view the media: assume incompetence over conspiracy. I've been credited with EQM and mileage on flights not taken (flights to 2 different NY airports in the span of about 8 hours). Many times the final fare I receive is substantially lower than the "lowest available" shown at the beginning of the fare search.

Search results are a function of the logic you input into the system. If your profile is set to show 5 flights, and the default is 15, you'd get more results by logging out.
Similarly, when talking with an agent, the results you get are often dependent on the specific question asked. The other day when booking a SFO-GIG BF award, the agent told me all there was was EasyPass SFO-GIG. I knew better, and on the same call I walked him through booking IAH-GIG (which was available), and SFO-SLC-IAH on DL F. I wasn't about to EasyPass that whole award because a domestic segment wasn't available in domestic F.

...similar results when trying to get to Bogota. Sometimes, the closest flight from AUS to IAH to the BOG flight doesn't have any space available... but by allowing a longer layover in Houston, I can book the flight.
