CO Express Flights Posting as RU
I did a quick search and couldn't find anything on this. I looged into my account after a weekend trip and the Continental Express flights I took showed up as the flight numbers with RU in front of them instead of the CO. The lfight number matches the CO flight number. Does anyone know the reason for this? I just curious if this foreshadows some change to One Pass. Thanks.

Yeah, they changed the way they show flights, The RU in all of mine are CO Express (Region jets)
So I'm assuming they are differentiating between CO and CO Express flights

RU is the airline code for Express Jet Airlines
... just as Comair (DL Connection) and Atlantic Coast (formerly UA Express) have their own airline codes.
From the horse's mouth: the Bureau of Transportation Statistics at USDOT.
For practical purposes, Express Jet can post its profits, load factors, on time performance, etc. independently of CO. I think the RU code, plus the separate stock market trading under XJT, open the door for Express Jet to break away and become independent, as ACA has recently done.

RU is just ExpressJet's IATA code. It's just a different way to list it. Kind of the same thing when you try and track an ExpressJet flight on one of those websites. To track an ExpressJet fight you can't use "CAL" you have to use "BTA" which is the code for Britt Airways whose certificate Continental Express bought many years ago.

Not sure if I'm seeing old information, but RU is 'Northern Commuter' airlines. Also, in doing a different search, I found that ExpressJet doesn't even have an IATA code but does have an ICAO code of 'BTA'.
As far as I remember, Continental loses its interest in ExpressJet Airlines in 2006 - unless they sign further contracts. I remember reading somewhere that most people believe they will not resign. Not sure why. CO has definitely set itself up for short- & mid-haul flights on those damn RJ planes (IAH-WAS, IAH-Palm Springs!?!?!?).
