[QUOTE=dmunz]On this Sunday's flight 1017 from IAH to San Jose, there were two empty seats in F and the FAs tried to move people from the back up. One guy did but the other person wanted to stay in Y. They didn't ask anyone else.
I've refused to move up 3 times when I've had the whole row to myself-- afterwhich I was hosed by the F/A who invited someone from the back to move up to my row

Heh. I fly every week in shorts, birkenstocks, and a tie-dyed tshirt. My apartment is en route between my destination airport and my client site, so I can swing in and change on the way to work. Much more comfy than traveling in business dress. I'm still shocked when all the "suits" push ahead of me in the boarding line though, assuming I must be sitting with the rest of the "riff-raff" in back... Though I do love bumping past the silvers in the upgrade list (I fly over 100K/year easily)... the stunned look on their face when a "kid" in t-shirt and shorts gets their upgrade is priceless. ;-)

If there are any empty FC seats, I try to find some Armed Service person waiting for the flight and get them upgraded.
Once, when there was none to be seen, I saw a little old lady being helped to board, and got her upgraded.

Complimentary upgrades are just one of many exclusive benefits reserved for Elite members -- our most valued customers.
Getting an upgrade as promised by CO's marketing department ain't gettin' "alot more than what you paid for."
