Name spelling and EUA

Hello,
Hope this isn't already covered somewhere; did a quick search and didn't find anything.

continental.com (https://www.continental.com/web/en-U...al_expert_user) says

For an Elite member to be eligible to receive an upgrade, they must make sure that the name on the reservation exactly matches the name on their OnePass account and photo identification or passport.
The thing is, I have a very long first name, and it won't all fit into the First Name field when I signed up for OnePass, so the system truncated the last word and left it in as a middle initial (I don't have a middle name).

When I bought my ticket, I put in my full first name as it is reflected in my passport, and left the middle initial field blank. This time, the first name field took everything, without any issues.

We are at T-5, and the upgrade hasn't cleared yet. I know that CO's EUA process only runs once a day, but in the back of my head, I wonder if that'll actually completely prevent me from being upgraded. Any ideas?

Cheers,
NYCSINUA

As long as your CO/MP number is attached to your reservation (and you can see it online in the My Reservations section), you're fine. Don't forget, upgrades don't automatically clear at the windows. They will only clear if UPGRADE space is available and you're next in line.

Thanks for getting back to me. I am aware that upgrades don't always (or rather, rarely) clear right after the window opens, and that upgrade space is limited. I'm just unfamiliar with CO's EUA process. It'd have been a shame to miss an upgrade because of such a little detail!

The easiest way to check that your status is correct in the reservation is to try to pick a seat that is restricted to elites. If that works you know it sees you correctly.

brilliant! I'm in ELR seats (for free), so I should be good to go! Thanks all!
