Avoiding EWR?

The weather will start after 5 pm today and they start to cancel
many flights from now(3:00pm). So even the weather is ok there now,
My friend can't take her flight at 3:18 pm because they want to cancel
it even the storm won't hit until 5. .................!!!
Now....no flight available for her to leave today and she had to overnight
there.
Now, she watches the sunny sky and she can't figure out why her 3:18 pm flight get canceled
due to good weather.
