Elite Maximizer Question

After i purchased my ticket elite maximizer was offered at a rate of $102 for double miles (3396 miles) and $204 for triple miles (6792 miles). After doing online check in it is now offering the rates of $51 and $102 and the elite maximizer amount is being cut in half too. Is this a normal practice to cut the rates in half or does it have something to do with my upgrades clearing and being offered the cheaper maximizer rates?

It might be just offering you the option to buy miles for the outbound flight, not the return.

At check-in (online or kiosk), it offers Maximizer for just that day's flights (vs. in advance when it offers it for the whole itinerary). The price is the same per mile though.

BTW, there are two options for purchasing Maximizer miles: 1) OnePass Maximizer, with these miles not being applicable with regard to attaining elite status, and 2) Elite Maximizer, which do count toward elite status but cost an additional charge on top of the standard OnePass Maximzer miles charge....

But you probably knew that already......
