Thanks for the upgrade!
Quick story...
Boarded the 777 from Del - EWR. Sat down in seat 32A. 20 mins before departure someone calls my name over the intercom. So I went against the grain of people boarding and met the Delhi gate agent and she asked me if I was sitting in 32A. I said yes. I was hoping I was not going to get moved because of a tall or handicapped traveler (which I would have done without incident...luck of the draw I suppose). However, she said that I was no longer sitting there...she moved me to seat 4D in the BF cabin. yay!! It was going to be one of those flights back in coach, I could tell.
I was not wait listing or anything like that....nor had I quite reached the 100k mark. Anyhow...that really goes a long way with me when those nice little random acts of kindness happen. I got home, well rested and need to give my props to CO...that makes me want to stay loyal.

Interesting account provided by the OP.
I had a buddy not to long ago try to use miles and copay for upgrade on that route and never got close to clearing the list.
In any case, congrats.
