Are changes to award ticket allowed during the stopover segment?

Are changes to award ticket allowed during the stopover segment?
currently on asia to EWR award with stopover in SFO. arrived in SFO and possibly need to change plans to stay longer in SFO. return ewr to asia is not affected. obviously have to find availability, but am i allowed to change the dates of my post-stopover flight to ewr?
