Chase CO Debit Card Earning extension

My banker at Chase told me he had heard a rumor that The Durbin Act might be delayed and that Chase debit cards might continue to earn millage past the july deadline. Has anyone else heard anything similar?

I met with one yesterday and she informed us it would be done in July, FWIW.

Any reference to Durbin is speculation. But yes, if repealed, it could change that.

All over. Senate declined to amend Dodd-Frank and the new limits on debit interchange fees go into effect as planned. Means the end of awards associated with debit cards, including miles. Some banks may take up to another 6 months, but not worth switching.

Bad idea to use debit to pay for future services such as air travel anyway. Credit card purchasers protected in bankruptcy while debit are not.
