Like the above poster said, this is correct. However, she can put you down as a companion (if she is CO Gold or higher).

Agents still dont know - but they can look it up
 
I ran into 5 different agents in EWR and SNA this week who "KNEW" you cannot upgrade a reward ticket. But with a lot of effort on your part they can look it up and see Pres Plus and One Pass Plus card holders who are gold or plat elite can upgrade a reward ticket.

I wish someone would post the page that the agents have to go to so that we can short circuit all the arguments!

Okay so my best bet is when I get to the airport to add her as a companion upgrade, since I'm plat and have the pres plus card and shes on the reward? Is there a GG code to remind the desk agents if they say that you cant upgrade an award?

No -- there's no easy way if they rebuke this. However, if you just add her as a companion (don't mention anything else), you shouldn't have an issue (even non-elites also can be added as a companion).

as reported on the other thread about this. I do not know first hand if this is correct. But I do know that the info is available to them somewhere as one agent looked it up the other day and was "surprised" I was correct about the new rule! Didn't say "sorry" though.
