Thumbs up Some Changes Are Here

Not sure if it was already reported, but I couldn't find it.
Today @ EWR I have noticed that additional screens are installed next to the gates where Upgrade/stand by/destination information is displayed.
Straight from the spot

Impressing! We are becoming UA after all...
Is it only in EWR or IAH too?

Looks like a good mix between what was displayed on the CO monitors and the UA monitors.

I like the "First Class Upgrade List" title. Some of UA's titles are confusing, like "Cleared" I think it refers to Standby paxs cleared but it can easily be thought of as Upgrade cleared

Good to see that the EWR-SFO upgrade list is much shorter than a typical IAD-SFO upgrade list

That's one of the shorter lists usually it's ~20-30 people.

That gate has had the GIDS system for a while now. It was one of the original pilot installs in EWR before the project was shelved.

On the one hand, it negates the exclusivity of the pda site.

On the other hand, it will make GA's accountable, and should result in fewer instances of shenanigans.

This is definitely a cleaner FC Upgrade list screen than UA, since it shows cleared on the same page. We've noticed that UA has continued to install these monitors at more stations in the past few months, so between the two hopefully these will continue to spread ^

I saw these at IAH E4 (the self-boarding gate) when I went through there on Monday. I'm not sure if other gates have them. I don't think so, but I wasn't paying that much attention.

The UA cleared list refers to Standby and Upgrades. BP1, BP2, BP5, etc etc It also includes UGDG

See the thread I linked to above. They've been at select gates in EWR and IAH since mid-2009.

Gotcha.

I know Delta has had these at Hartsfield for years. I always liked having that info publicly displayed. I hope they eventually roll it out everywhere.

If they move CO to UA gates in many locations, they'll be everywhere in short time.

I really like them...a step above that UA has on their hub + screens...nice to have that info available. UA mobile info is nonexistant, so I need one or the other. I even saw a UA screen at SJU last week...
