Question on potential for UG

Haven't flown internationally since getting to CO gold. I've read the rules, I get that reward tix don't seem to be eligible so this may be a dumb question and prob no chance in hell...

However, flying BOS to BFS for honeymoon end of May BOS-EWR-BFS on 2 reward tix. Have gold status..(my then wife has no op status) Would their be any neat tricks to getting ug to FC? I know the giving and pleasant reputation of EWR so that should improve my chances I'm sure.

Second question.. I've heard horror stories on the whole intl process flying through EWR. Have just under 2 hrs for connection - assuming that's plenty o time?

Apologies in advance if ridiculous questions but regional flyer that never gets a shot at ug's and never flies internationally so pretty noobish with this side of the game.

Yep. Upgrade Standby List FAQ's "Which flights are eligible for Elite upgrades?" section is why. Use upgrade reward to do so. Best of luck with your honeymoon.

2 hours is fine as a connection. Coming back, you have to deplane, re check your luggage, go back through security. You'll have to hurry, but should be ok. Be thankful for priority.

One thing, though. If you are getting back on the same flight, make sure you insist on a new boarding pass EWR-BOS. otherwise you sometimes can't get through security.
