Using E-Cert at Co.com
I have a $300 travel voucher from being bumped on CO. I tried to use it to make a purchase. By the time I came to the end of the process I had charged the entire amount to my credit card on file. I never saw an opportunity to use the E-cert.
Before I do this again, what is the secret? Since it is called an electronic certificate I assume it can be used at Co.com.
E-certs are easy to use at Delta.com.

On the page where you are choosing the CC to use there is an option to redeem the eCert.

Make sure that it's all on CO metals. If it's CO metal and UA operated (u will see like a footnote right under the flight number), the option to put in your certificate will never appear.
If it's all on CO metals, it should pops up that link like the Mod's pic.
Hope that helps.

They're not one airline - yet. Two separate airlines owned by the same company. I agree that it's extremely confusing though since they are heavily promoting each others flights on both website.

Related question; when I get to the payment page and check the box for redeeming the ecert will I get confirmation that it has been applied prior to booking the flight?
Thanks for your help.

I know this is an older thread, but I am interested in knowing if this has changed, yet. I have a CO cert from earlier this year and would like to use it. Even though I heard that CO" is now accepting UA ecerts, I can not get united.com to recognize this one. Do I still have to have all legs on CO in order to use a CO ecert (would actually like to use it on an itinerary that is all UA)?

You can use the cert if you book the UA flights at CO.com under their CO code. I had an all-UA/UAX itinerary ABQ-LAX-RNO last week that I booked at CO.com using a $300 VDB cert. I used my UA MP number on the reservation, and the miles posted to my MP account no problemo.

The mistake SEA-PEK fare (that I'm flying out on tomorrow) was booked completely at CO.com. Four flights with CO #'s and are all UA-operated and the e-cert was accepted with no problem.
I would have booked it at UA.com but their dam* website doesn't let you enter Type B vouchers yet for $400 so I went through CO.com who had an e-cert with. #1 rule of mistake fares...never call the airline
