Question regarding access to E Plus
So I am a plat on CO (That ends in a couple of weeks as I go back to non-elite). My question is I have an award ticket this coming August. Can I seat myself now in E+ on the UA flights I am on or is E+ reserved for paying tickets and/or limited to elite status at the time of the flight?

You can seat yourself in E+ now, if the aircraft type is not changed and there are no schedule changes between now and then you have a high chance of keeping the seat. If anything happens though you could easily be bumped out of the seat so I wouldn't count on it. I'd suggest checking the booking regularly.

I am going to miss those random upgrade chances.
Was bumped from Y to J on a run back from HNL on Dec 3rd due to a swap from a 767 to 764. Nice little your gonna miss plat reminder.
Anyway my wife is on my itenerary as well so can I still seat in E+ If so do I need to call because when I took my reservation to ua.com and tried it showed it as being a chargeable seat.

I called them and indeed was able to move both the wife and I up to E+.
Thanks for the advice...
Has anyone flown row 10 on a UA 763?? Is it tight or decent?

Bit tight at the window seats, the aisle seats aren't bad though. Was just on one of these domestic 763s yesterday - they feel like they've been around the block quite a few times

Would you suggest moving a row back to 11 on that 763 flight? It is SFO-IAH
