Connection time concern / thoughts?
Hi Everyone,
I have a nutso award ticket flight on December 26th. EWR->ORD->NRT->GUM->NAN (I know -- I know, but it's all F at least -- and I'll be in Fiji at the end!).
Anyway, my connection time in ORD is 1 hr and I'm switching from Continental to ANA. My flight arrives in ORD at 9:45am. Thoughts?
I was thinking of trying to pop on an earlier flight. I thought if I got to EWR earlier and asked nicely maybe they would hook me up. I know no one has a crystal ball, but any advice is appreciated.
Thx

I'm 99% sure you have to switch terminals - and re-clear security - at ORD to make that ANA flight. Doing so in only an hour will be VERY tight. I'm actually surprised that's even a legal connection.

ANA departs from Terminal 1, so no need to clear security. Even so, it's a tight connection - the line for takeoff at EWR can be busy around that time, although I'd suspect there are fewer flights operational on the 26th since it's the day after Christmas and a Sunday.
It appears you're on the first CO flight out of EWR that morning already, so I don't think showing up any earlier is going to help. There are UA flights but it doesn't appear that there is any reward space on them at the moment - you may want to keep an eye on these over the next few days just in case.

The weather is starting to look iffy for EWR on the 26th. Keep an eye on the forecasts. If it looks bad, try calling on the 25th and see if they can protect (or confirm) you on one of the early UA flights.
