Suicidal Passenger

Pax was distraught when the upgrade didn't clear???

Albuquerque, N.M. (AP) -- A Continental Airlines flight
from San Jose to Houston is on the ground in Albuquerque after
the crew decided to land because of a disruptive passenger.
Airport spokesman Dan Jiron (HEE-rohn) says an individual
on board the aircraft appeared to be suicidal, so the crew
diverted the flight to Albuquerque.
Jiron says the aircraft landed about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
He says a passenger was taken into custody by Albuquerque's
aviation police and FBI agents are on site conducting
interviews.
A spokeswoman for the Houston-based airline had no
immediate comment.

Did he see a gremlin on the wing?
How did he appear to be suicidal?

I give it an hour before a thread starts:
"My plane landed in ABQ and not IAH - compensation?"

A friend is on that flight and posted on his facebook that the passenger tried to open the emergency door and cracked the window and then went crazy on the FA and FM

Well, that would be the window for the cabin's aesthetics ...even if cracked it won't affect the structural integrity of the airplane but the passenger was definitely aloof...

If the PAX was suicidal before he arrived in ABQ, I hate to see how he felt upon arrival.

OMG. There are many unstable people on earth. Awful that one was on this flight.

Nope but apparently he had to give up his seat in an empty row so they could restrain the passenger

Does he only get the...

SNA-ABQ EQMs, or does he qualify for SNA-IAH EQMs once he boarded? Hopefully the former applies and he's gonna miss his SWUs by a couple of miles.

One of the FAs took herself off the trip upon landing in Houston, while the rest of the crew continued onto their next destination. Saw a trip pop in open time about an hour ago and found out it was because of this after researching a bit and looking at the comments on the pairing.
