OLCI Problem

I went to check-in for my flight, and I encountered a weird message:

Unable to Complete Check-in

We are unable to complete the check-in process as a valid eTicket coupon cannot be found. Please contact a Continental Representative at 1-800-300-1547 for assistance.
The site also signs me out of my onepass account each time I try. I called, and of course they said that the wait time is a half hour or longer. Also strange is that it still lists my reservation, yet when I checked it yesterday, the map had me sitting in 44F, the seat I had chosen. Now it has me sitting in BusinessFirst with a Z ticket. Yet nowhere does it show I've paid any more money to sit in BF. I'm nervous this means that I don't have an e-ticket number because it's waiting to confirm my new BF ticket, at which point I'll be charged over $1,000 for the buy-up fare. Any insights?

You won't be charged anything if you did not originate the change.

Also, the rules of FT prohibit cross-posting.

Are you sure that you weren't possibly EUA'd? You should have your e-ticket # from your original reservation. If you saved your e-mail confirmation when you booked the ticket -- it should be there!

Hope all goes well & not something unexpected! Safe travels!^

Was definitely not EUA'd. There are no EUA's on BF flights. I went back to the original receipt, and found the original e-ticket number. It didn't work; I still got the same message.

But am I supposed to just wait until I get to the airport and then complain? How do I explain this to them?

Did you look under your canceled reservations to see if it was placed in there by mistake?

My account doesn't show any canceled reservations. And my account still shows this reservation intact and everything. And when I view my reservation, it even asks me to check-in now. Yet when I do, I get the same message.

You need to call -- I once had an e-ticket that never quite got confirmed, and had to call to get it fully processed! You don't want to go to the airport & be in for any surprises!

ETA: saw that you responded while I was typing! So, could it possibly be that they need to (re) scan your passport or something?

Called CO, and pressed "3" instead of "2" and wait time was 5 minutes. Agent fixed it, no problem. She thinks the problem may have been that when I was viewing my reservation last night, I may have accidentally purchased the buy-up. I think that CO should stop showing that buy-up on every single page. If I want BF, I'll buy it initially. If they want to leave one side note offering the buy-up, fine. But enough with the overkill. Unfortunately though, I lost my seat of choice :-(

Glad it's all resolved now!^ It just wasn't worth the stress of unexpected at the airport!

Wow -- what a shock to hear that you 'accidentally' purchased the buy-up!

I'm curious how many people "accidentally purchase that buy-up".
