Standby on UA, what are the rules.

Anyone know what the rules are for CO elites?

Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect $200

In other words, fork over $75 or $50 for CO Elites even...

Unless you are GS/1K or are on an F or Y ticket, you will have to pay $50.

Platinums may standby on UA flights for no fee. I speak from personal experience last week at DCA.

I'll give it the old fashioned All American try then when I fly UA this week.

That's strange since 1P/Prem Exec do not get the fee waiver. May have been a UA agent giving you a welcome gift.

Uh, CO Plat is equivalent to UA 1K, given that both are top tier (excluding GS and PPlats) in their respective programs.

The notion that CO Plat somehow is equivalent to UA 1P because of the different mileage thresholds for each is patently false.

....
For UA metal, CO Platinums are in the same UDU clearance window as 1Ps -- so it is not unreasonable to speculate Platinums would have the same standby waiver status as 1Ps.

How the new UA resolves the different threshold levels is one of the great unknowns.

I did notice the information below when purchasing a recent business reservation. It seems as if its loaded into the CO system, whether or not it happens is another story.

We can only hope the CO same day change policy is the one that is adopted in the new United!

I do not think this is policy unless on a full-flex fare. I had to fork over the $50 last week at SFO .

I've been booking united flights via the continental website for codeshares and regardless of fare they've allowed free SDCs. I've done this 3 times now.

I like avoiding the UA call center if possible.

I was charged this fee at the gate- and despite my attempt to suggest to the GA that as a Plat in the newly merged airline i should not have to pay! And on a flight that had 60 empty seats.

Anyone know what the official policy on this is?

You've managed to SDC for free on UA operated flights to other UA operated flights?
