Howdy Y'all.......
Before I get told 'they are still two different airlines' just hear me out....
I am flying EWR-IAD on 3DEC, and found it quite perplexing that there is a CO-Conn flight leaving EWR at 7:25p (CO 3398/UA4770) and then a UA-Express flight leaving EWR at 7:27p (CO7669/UA8023).
As I said, I know CO and UA are still two different airlines, and so on, however, would it make a little more sense to have these two flights spread out a little more? Even if one was 6:45, and the other 7:45 or even 7:30, they would offer different "options" for travelers.
Also, wouldn't it be more cost-effective to offer service on a larger aircraft basically offer the same 124 seats (74 on the Dash-8 and 50 on the E145)....
Just my humble little observation.......

You'll get your wish soon enough.
The merger was final what, 2 weeks ago? Schedule lead time is usually a few months.

I'm sure they'll rationalize things going forward, but for now they're still two separate airlines.
There are a few other routes with similar overlap, including EWR-SFO (18:15/18:24 and 6:30/7:00). They'll all get figured out eventually. This isn't the sort of thing where you just wave a magic wand and 9 weeks after the merger closes everything is smoothly integrated.
