Upgrade to SIN
On CO ticket with UA segment from NRT to SIN. Want to waitlist for upgrade reward. I understand the copay and miles for the CO portion, but what about the UA portion. Can I waitlist or secure an upgrade on that portion with the same copay and miles, can I use CO miles for that UA flight (has CO number)?

You are SOL....sorry. The problem is you have a CO codeshare number. This means you cannot upgrade this flight with CO miles / $$$.
If you have a UA flight number, ticketed in Y/B class fares, then you can apply for a Star Alliance Upgrade AWard.
One option is when you reach NRT, ask the UA folks if they have any day of departure upgrades available. They run about 400-500 USD if available for that segment.
I have always only been in full flights on this NRT-SIN-NRT route...so I never got a chance to buy that upgrade.
