Bug in the current CO.COm website >Seat Reservation system

I didn't notice another thread on this so I'm posting

Recently, I rarely get the seat I "select" when the reservation processes to completion

Making a reservation on the CO.com website
Purchase an M fare "Platinum upgrade"
Seat Selector
Upgrade
select an "available seat" in F
pay
get confirmation but recently its always been another seat in F (not the one I've selected"

I then have to go in to "View/Change Seat" and reselect my originally requested seat

CO - what's up with this?

My assistant mentioned this recently. At least you have a workaround

We have had this happen as well on both B/M fares and econ fares. We (Mr. Travel_addict and I) select our seats then it assigns us completely different seats. Must be some kind of weird glitch. Thank goodness for the workaround but it is a little annoying.

If I had to guess the issue is that they are assigning you a seat that is in F even though your ticket is still in Y until it is issued and upgraded. So when it is issued it actually just uses the normal algorithm for assigning the seat rather than what you chose. Does seem like something that should be pretty easy to address.

Maybe, but this is a new glitch ... I've been reserving and booking this route for a very long time ... I've noticed this glitch in the past few weeks ... may have skipped my notice if it were another issue, but I have a very strong preference for a starboard side front window on my IAH/LGA legs (great view of city lights) and I'm routinely being assigned an E or F seat in FC, rather than my preffred and selected A seat ... minor issue, but annoying nonetheless
