Upgrade Waitlist Question

I'm booked on CO #1402 on 9/2. I purchased V class and upgraded to R when I purchased the ticket on 6/11. I have been waitlisted for R from the day I bought the ticket and I understand that CO selling the seat is better than my upgrade, but now as we are 3 days out, when I check the flight status, there are no passengers listed on the upgrade waitlist. As I have been on the list since 6/11 I assume I would be near the top. Is there any place for me to see where I reside on the list? Any other sites I should be looking at? Just trying to maximize my ability for the upgrade.

There needs to be an R made available then I believe it goes on the basis of when you purchased the upgrade. While it would be nice to see a list of R waiters, I know of no place that you can find such a list. I too am waiting for an R to clear... checking every day... only two weeks out with 10 unassigned seats... not the same as unsold seats... for which the inventory courtesy of wanderingarmenian shows only 3, so I'm not hopeful. At least I have a bulkhead row in the back.

It appears these folks have been upgraded. Are you one of them?

Customers Upgraded into First Class:
CAP, J. 6E
IVE, S. 1A
YAF, A. 2F
ZAP, A. 3A

This flight is a difficult to get an upgrade. Though you should still be close to the top. There is no one else waiting on the list.
I suggest you call Continental.com support and see why you are not showing up as "upgrade standby".

Thanks snod08.

I spoke with Continental and the customers shown purchased fares that have an auto-upgrade. After being added to the waitlist in June, we are 5th on line and there are 4 open seats so I'm not keeping my hopes up for the upgrade. Looks like we will be sitting in coach for the flight. This sucks!

Sorry about that. This is a tough route.
Perhaps there will be a no-show or something, and you could get lucky.
Keep us posted!

Because they aren't checked in yet and the waitlist online only shows passengers who have checked in for the flight.

Anything can change -- like mis-connects, SDCs, etc. So keep your fingers crossed!^

AH I see! So, the mileage-based upgrade waitlist folks only show up after they check-in? I thought for some reason, they would be automatically waitlisted.

There are different lists. The one that we see is the last of the ones processed throughout the reservations life cycle.
