Fastest Elite Qualification

It occurred to me today that this year is the fastest I've qualifed for Platinum. With that in mind, I'm curious how fast others have been able to hit various status levels. So let's hear it - I'll start.

Silver - Early Feb (2007, all domestic)
Gold - May (2010)
Platinum - Early August (2010)

I'm betting my personal records won't impress a whole lot in this crowd.

Last year, I made it by late April/early May, but that was with the Double EQM. In 2008, I made it by late June/early July without DEQMs. And I am a piker relative to many on this site...

Between 2002 and 2006, I made platinum usually by about July or early August but not with miles...it was with 90 EQP. I finished each of those years with about 160+ EQP and usually just over 75K miles.

Did I mention that I friggin' hate ERJ's?

2006 and 2007 were almost all ERJs for me, primarily flying the 3hr route from IAH-RIC. Earning Plat the hard way.

The hard way indeed! It seems misery loves compay. Just made plat again last week on EQP's! I will probably earn my SWU's this year too, also on EQP's!

And this year it is mostly mainline.

This year I was requaled for Silver on Jan 3rd, Gold on Jan 6th, and crossed the Plat finish line on Jan 10th.

My friend told me about two coworkers who had a competition to see who could hit EXP (100k eqms) on AA the quickest. The guy who won made it in March.

OK - that exceeded my expectations for this thread. I'm pretty sure you win, and I'm not even sure how you do that. I got 34k EQMs on a recent flight to JNB and back, so I can see how it's theoretically possible. But one would pretty much have to hop off the plane, clear customs, and make their way back to the gate to catch the return flight. Then do the whole R/T again. Then add on a few more miles.

Presumably CO has a special cabin with a LA-Z-BOY in it for you. If not, they damn well should!

I am happy to have those days behind me. I'm mostly getting miles on international routes now. I don't travel much, but when I do I go far. I'm sitting around 40ish EQPs right now, which is the most I've had since 2007, but I'll shoot past 100K EQMs before Oct.

Not quite -- there was a fare "sale" last year where CO was offering B class (i.e. 150% EQMs) for SEA-IAH-NRT and back so each trip would earn about 25k EQMs. Three of those back-to-back plus a few upgrades to BF "on the house" allowed me to keep get my requal out of the way early and keep my sanity.

More like a wooden bar stool in the cargo hold with splinters. Nothing but the best for J. Edward!
