Informal E+ on UA started?
Am sitting at the gate about an hour before a UA flight and was just paged to the gate desk and given an E+ seat. Did not request in any way or even talk with the agent beforehand. One other person also called up to gate for new BP. Pleasant surprise for this CO *G.

Probably an op-up as E- was full.

When I boarded it turned out to be a very full flight. Still, a nice touch. Also noticed a denver RCC with a blue elite access carpet. Off topic and unimportant, but made me do a doubletake.

I recently spoke to a UA GA who told me they were told to process CO Elite's for UG's, of course after ALL their elites have been processed.

Yes. UA will continue to sell seats for flights if E- is full. They will not let you pre-assign a seat since E- is full.
Therefore upon check-in you get a departure management card, and the GA calls you up to give you a seat assignment in E+.

As a United flight attendant, I am getting more and more CO elites asking to be upgraded to economy plus. Moving to economy plus really needs to be taken care of with the gate agent. Inflight crew only has the option to upgrade a limited number of passengers (no matter what their status) to economy plus for a fee once onboard the aircraft. We are not authorized to simply give the product away

I think quite a few of us (CO elites) have been moved into E+ when asking nicely at the gate and there's availability- at least that's been my experience. But all of my experiences have been domestic. I'm heading to CDG on UA in a couple weeks. Anyone have luck on international?

This is against official policy! I'm outraged! Nastygram letter writing to commence.
j/k it's all good. The sooner reciprocity comes, the better. Not booking any more CO til it happens. Lotsa E+ seats out there, not so many ELR...
