I have offered a beverage in place of an Error. I was flying in from Europe the other day and a Gentleman's TV froze and couldn't be re-booted. He was very nice about it and I offered him the two open seat's we had left and he politely declined. So when he ordered two beer's I offered him them comped as a friendly gesture and he was as Jolly as can be. Another issue I have seen is in Europe unlike American airline's they still mostly use cash. So to many European's the credit only is funny and I had a sweet SWEET couple with a friend shocked (but funny shocked) because they never heard of it before. *sigh* I love flying to Europe....

The FA could have done this but we also have the ability to comp drinks on the machine. As long as we don't get carried away, the company understands the value of this and won't bust our chops.

Just a quick follow-up on my previous post: I did not receive any receipts from the flight attendant or DirectTV swiper. The FA did verbally mention the $2 reduction with my card. Also, there were no separate credit lines on my card statement. It would appear this is a completly erroneous mischarge.
