CO & BA

I couldn't find anything in the search.

I'm looking at flights to Cape Town in Jan from Newark. I figured I would see the SAA flights from London for the connection cuz of *A. Yet I also noticed, CO shows connections in LHR with BA. Just curious where this connection with CO and BA comes from, especially since BA is OneWorld and I don't see BA code share offered on any other routes. I'll go with SAA for the miles, but thought it was odd to see CO offering that option.

It has been the case for about 9 months now, CO will display flight from non partners in cases they cannot offer themselves. Yes SAA is a partner, but they are not integrated into the engine to this point it seems.

SA definitely are integrated into the website for revenue bookings. I'm not sure why they don't appear on a EWR-LHR-CPT search, they appear if you search for JNB as the destination.

BA are shown as they are a valid carrier on this fare, as per the fare rules. You can confirm this on ITA, etc.

The CO website does not prioritise by alliance - it appears that it will by default show the flights in order of best fare and then connection time.
