What is Assorted Snacks?

I'm flying from Madison to EWR tomorrow night on ExpressJet. From EWR, we had the usual pretzels and drinks. For my flight tomorrow it says:

Complimentary Food:

Main Cabin: Assorted snacks

What exactly is assorted snacks. I haven't seen that before, normally it's just pretzels on snack flights in Y. Is that the FA passing a snack basket, or a plastic plated type of dish with random things?

I think that' s probably a very *generous* description. What it probably means is that Express Jet has an assortment of snacks that they may or may not get from time to time, depending of cost of said snacks, and that perhaps -- just maybe -- you will have pretzels. or some nuts. but not both. and no more than one per person. All h3ll will break loose if you try to snag an extra!!!

Assorted snacks happen regularly towards end of that aircraft's flight schedule for the day. As they run out of snacks, they do a quick sweep of the seat back pockets and use spare ZipLoc baggies to prepare snacks for the next flight. I saw it advertised on the environmental page as a green initiative. That being said, if you get a green snack through this program, I recommend not eating it!

On longer ERJ flights (over 2 hours) during lunch/dinner hours, you'll typically get the small turkey sandwich when you're flying FROM a hub, and you'll get a snack pack when you're flying TO a hub. This snack pack usually includes cheese spread, salami, crackers, trail mix, candy, etc. You can see one of these snack packs here.

As of two weeks ago, this is what this flight serves.

ETA -- eat in the brew pub across from the DL gates prior to the flight and get a pretzel. They are drowning in butter and orgasmic.
