Strange Behavior

On my flight this morning after takeoff, a women sitting on the isle, I was sitting by the baulkhead window, first takes the barf bag, and puts it on the middle seat. Then she takes the CO magazine and starts tearing page by page and puts the cut pages in the bag. I am sure glad I changed my seat on check in to the baulkhead. I should have kept the seat I selected when I booked the flight. Also, the women wanted to use the first class Lav, FA said no, have to use the ones in the back. She was complaining for the rest of the flight about this.

wow,
i would have reported her to the flight attendants, demand she be moved and then asked for compensation for this strange behavior. are you sure you were not on a united flight?

Isle is spelled correctly. It just means something entirely different.

Just curious, but compensation from who? Certainly CO doesn't owe compensation for the actions of an offbeat passenger.

putting the barf bag on the seat with clippings would be my guess

another guess would be making a big deal about not being able to use the F lav

Making a big deal about using F lav I would not find strange - indeed there are few flights where at least one person in Y does not feel entitled to use the F lav. Also several people here feel entitled to use the F overhead bins too. SO I would not call that strange but very usual. Making a big deal of stuff that dont matter is also very frequently seen in planes too.

As for the clippings - maybe we just need to understand more; she was tearing the pages or cutting them? Maybe she was in some one man protest against CO? Maybe she was displeased there was no meal at meal time. Maybe she has heard about the merger. Maybe she was on the 9th leg of a marathon mileage run. Maybe she was just put through one of those new whole body scanners. Maybe she thought OP was the crazy one and wanted to chat him up so thought she better behave crazy too. Who knows what was going on in her head. So much goes on in airplanes that can turn a sane man crazy. That said I have certainly seen stranger...

my friends don't understand why I always peel labels off of beer bottles, little by little, as I drink. Maybe next time, I'll put them in a barf bag instead of neatly reconstructing the label on my tray table,

Wink

CO does allow passengers to take the CO magazine with them. Shouldn't matter HOW they do this!
Re: the barf bags; I think CO always wants those back.

I've seen the page tearing behavior a couple of times myself--both times on airplanes. Pax tore pages from magazines one after the other until all the pages were gone. I assumed it was some sort of nervous or compulsive behavior.
