Connection in TGU
I was looking at flights from ORD-SJO and noticed an option that included a connection from CO to Copa in TGU (ORD-IAH-TGU-SJO) and since the price was the same as the direct IAH-SJO option, I thought it might be fun to stop in TGU...I've heard it's a rather "exciting" approach due to the location of the airport. My connection to Copa is around 40 minutes...has anyone ever connected in TGU? I'm assuming it's a small airport and 40 min. is plenty of time, but I'd like to hear from someone that I connected or flown into/out of TGU. It looks like CO is adding a second flight around noon to TGU so it must be a relatively popular destination.

TGU is really an exiteing approach! You will be fine with the time, but (almost) nobody connects in TGU. By default, when you deplane they will try to heard you down to imigration. You will need to make it known that you are connecting to Copa to stay airside, and you will be one of very few they will route to the correct area. Be careful if you mistakenly get through immigration because the new exit tax in Honduras is about $37.
The short connection is to your beneift, because there is notheing to do airside, other than a duty free or two that may or may not be open.
Earlier in the day is preferred for arrivals in Central America due to interesting weather in the afternoons.

Quick turn in TGU
I figured after the TGU/MGA/GUA super low fares briefly available last August, that some folks opted for the quick same day turn in TGU (IAH-TGU-IAH)...anyone care to report how easy it is to just get back on the same plane you arrived on? It looks like it's only on the ground in TGU for about 50 minutes...I know in bigger airports like PTY, they don't try to shuttle everyone to immigration, but it sounds like that's not the case in TGU.

TGU approach
One of the more 'exciting' approaches:
