Colgan pilots DQ'd the first plane for a small oil leak. They are now delaying the second plane to "check the tire pressure". Are the Colgan q400s this neglected or are we looking at some kind of job action. This is starting to have a third world feel.

I've flown the Q400 many times (most recently this weekend) without issue*. I'd say it's a string of bad luck, but I'm sure others will disagree.

Btw, for future threads, I'd suggest a more descriptive title than just a flight number.

*Mechanical issue. Whenever there is a cloud in EWR, they cancel flights, usually starting with the smallest: The Colgan/Continental Connection...

It's Colgan - just be thankful they're actually taking the time to check the aircraft in the first place.

That's like exchanging your rotten peach for an equally rotten nectarine

At least they decided to not fly the planes with problems, I'd be more worried that they just said oh well and flew anyways

Too bad that Colgan doesn't put this crew in charge of pilot training. Maybe they would have found the pilots with poor training before they killed a plane load of pax.

Or perhaps they could have enough quality control in their MX dept to prevent such horrendous dispatch reliability...
