Upgrading to Elite

Hey Guys,

Got a question for some of you expert CO customers. I'm traveling a lot for my company right now, and want to get to Elite as quickly as possible. At this time, I have nearly every week until June, all using CO. By that time, I will get Elite, but has anyone been able to ask CO for a courtesy upgrade? Somewhat in the line of "I've already purchased x amount of tickets, and will definitely get there, but want to use benefits now".

It can't hurt. If they do extend it, it would be doubtful for all flights booked, but perhaps the last few. It's always worth a try and best of luck.

Not going to happen. Unless your elite silver and need to goto gold and your next flight will get you to gold. Same with gold to plat.

I figure it's a long shot, but maybe I could win CSR roulette and get someone who's in a good mood.

Welcome to FlyerTalk!

With a number of non-refundable tickets booked you have a chance. Definitely worth calling OPSC - not reservations - and asking. But don't be too surprised if the ultimate answer is no.

All depends on the agent, but probably not.

Tried last year a couple of days before the non-refundable flight I had scheduled to put me over into silver for the first time and that got ixnayed.

If you have status at another airline you could ask for a match.

Like the rep said...call when I'm close to achieving status. Did that, and they gave me a trial Silver elite status for several days, in which I'll actually achieve the status via miles tomorrow.

They've definitely earned more of my business for doing a little extra.

Looking forward to boarding pre-cattle!
