*G allowed preferred seating?

I need to rush back to the UK for a funeral. I cant afford business class, and too last minute for mileage - and am tempted by my first long haul on Continental EWR-BRS as I quite like Continental from my domestic experiences. This route is still pretty good value.

I have a *G from LH - any way I can get exit seats to make it a little easier?

Apologies if this has been covered. Im not so familiar with the Continental board.

For your specific situation (assume you are flying before March 17th), *G members have reported being able to obtain exit-row/bulkhead seats when calling into Continental, or when checking-in with an Agent.

However, this is not a published benefit of *G, and is at the whim of the operator/Agent. After March 17th, we anticipate this "benefit" will also be reduced severely, as the policy of paid exit row seating for non-Elites will begin.

Your best bet is to try when booking (if co.com recognizes you as *G), and if this does not work, login at exactly T-23:59 before the flight, and grab an exit row, if still available.

Also worth noting that ~ 3 days before a 752 flight seats 16DEF will finally open up for assignment. I'm flying RSW-EWR this Sunday and called in this morning to get some seats assigned on that side of the row; prior to this morning those seats were missing on the map.

And depending on the situation you may want to check out COs website because they do offer discounted rates in the case of such events.
