I am taking my wife and 2 children to Ireland for a week. I am a plat, Are we all exempt from the baggage fees? Also are car seats counted as items of baggage? Thanks

Did you purchase all the tickets on the same PNR? If so you are all treated as exempt from baggage fees. The FAQ covers this: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/9806444-post52.html.

Regarding the car seat, check out the details here: http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...ge/infant.aspx.
Continental accepts one stroller or one carseat in addition to a customer's baggage allowance. When checked as baggage, all oversize and overweight charges will apply. First and second bag fees do not apply to either a stroller or a car seat. Continental is not liable for damage to strollers. Excess Valuation may not be purchased for strollers.
