AC Award Ticket Problems
Hi all,
I just booked an AC award LAX-YYZ-YUL and YUL-LAX for 12,500 miles each way using CO.com. Seemed straight forward, I paid the taxes and received an email instantly saying that they were still processing my reservation and that I would receive a true confirmation email within 3 hours from then. The email said that if I did not receive it in 3 hours to contact CO.
So 3 hours rolls by, nothing. I waited 5 hours, nothing. So I called to figure out what the deal is. I'm used to purchasing Star Alliance awards on UA instantly and being confirmed.
The agent said that the system was trying to ticket by mail. When she tried to change to e-ticket the system said the ticket was not eligible. Of course the people who deal with these issues had just left for the night so there was nothing more she could do.
She said that she would refer it to the right department to have them figure out what the issue is and call me back tomorrow.
Has anyone ever run into an issue like this? I guess the CO transition into Star Alliance isn't fully ironed out yet. I'm a little nervous about losing the seats since all I have is a CO reservation with the seats on "hold" now without a true reservation on AC with a ticket number etc.
Truly a bizarre situation.

I just redeemed a Business Class ticket LHR-YVR-PHX-SAN (AC/US) returning SAN-IAH-LHR (CO) and it was processed by the end of the day electronically. It took longer than the 3 hours, but all were confirmed in I and O classes respectively and the taxes already charged to my CC within 24 hours. Was great to find availability at 105K in August, where even economy fares are high!
